IGU Thematic Conference 2027: What AI Does to the World(s)? — Paris
The IGU is holding a thematic conference on critical geographic perspectives on AI, 5–8 July 2027 in Paris — directly in this Task Force's remit.
The International Geographical Union (IGU) will hold a thematic conference, "What AI Does to the World(s): Critical Geographic Perspectives?", from 5–8 July 2027 in Paris, France, organised with the Comité National Français de Géographie (CNFG).
The conference will examine how artificial intelligence is reshaping geographic knowledge, practice, and the discipline's critical perspectives on technology — a theme closely aligned with this Task Force's mandate on geographically grounded, ethical, and internationally coordinated AI in Geography.
Call-for-papers themes, submission deadlines, and registration details are expected from the organisers closer to the date. We'll post an update here once they're announced.
